For those who don't know what it is, it's each homeroom getting assigned a university where a unique chant based on the university, they were assigned at our first pep rally! Such as Trojans, UIL, Franklin and Marshall, and more. Assigning college house cups divides each homeroom as academic achievements that a reflection of scholars currently in that homeroom and it helps the seniors have school spirit not only for Idea Judson but also for colleges we could go to after we depart from the Jaguar family, GIVE ME A J- A- G!!

  • Encourages Healthy Competition: Encouraging competition motivates students to better themselves and to encourage others to do the same thing since healthy competition isn't disparaging but helps us be our best selves.

  • Diverse Skill Recognition: due to having house cups groups of different people get to shine on their own unique skills and achievements.

  • Inculcates Leadership and Responsibility: With working together, it naturally takes leadership and responsibility to succeed in competition as a team.

  • Motivates Academic Performance: Through having a reward system, it promotes students to live up to achedemic potential and it motivates students through positive reinforcement.

  • Fosters Personal Growth and Resilience: House cups foster personal growth and resilience through the healthy competition since it encourages us to think about how we can improve ourselves and how we can grow to reach our achedemic goals. While in competition not everyone can win but it strengthens the opportunity for resilience as we know not to give up after failure and to think about what we can change for the better.
